Aircooled VW stock wheel offsets?

Postby cactuskombi » Wed Jul 14, 2010 7:43 pm

Does anyone have a link or info to wheel offsets for aircooled VW 1958-1968.

To make it easier, wheel offsets for Type 3 to 1967 and Type 2 from 1961-1967 NZ models. cheers.

I had a look at that link thanks. Its good for the Empis and some Porsche Fuches I have.

The information on stock wide 5 wheel offsets is lacking.
Tried googling and for once the samba didnt turn up anything.

I am attempting to go to stock wheels on my 66 kombi. The stock kombi rims with 215/65's are hard up against the spring plate and only going to 165's will help, but I dont want car tyres to carry the load of my kombi.

I believe type 3 wide 5 wheels have the lower offset than the stock kombi wheels but dont want to go hunting for type 3 wheels until I am sure.

I dont know what beetle wide offsets are either.

Fronts are factory kombi drums and teh kombi rims have no worries here,
Rears are Type 3 straight axle and type 3 drums all wide 5 and kombi rims sit well in.

I pretty sure these are based on standard Beetle wheels and the ones I have with the inaccurate eye micrometer and a steel ruler seem to point to the 1 inch offset. :D
